Me And My Little Red Dress - 2

Me and my sister took my cousins little girl, Shelby, with us to the arboretum the other day, mainly to give me something else to shoot She was good the whole time, but is notorious for hating having her picture taken. She is one of those kids who gives that horrid fake smile when told too, and has to be bribed to get her photo taken.

Thankfully, my time at the portrait studio taught me all too well how to deal with this; I simply let her go play. You take a nice zoom lens, and a good bright area for the kid to play in, they will forget you are even there. Granted I was in a bummed out mood having lost my glasses that day (oh I wish I was kidding), so I didn't get any mind blowing shots, but I hope you like the 3 I got

This second one should make anyone complaining about the lack of color of the first three happy This time we see her dress in all its bright red image destroying glory I liked how she held herself on the door frames every time she went in and out. It was an interesting pose especially for a little kid to randomly take. This photo I had to do some more selective color enhancements on to balance everything out. What would make the dress look perfect, would make the rest of the scene look heavily cast in red light. It took a bit of trial and error, but I am getting better about selectively modifying the colors in an image.
